About
makingtaxdigital.blog is a free, plain-English site for UK sole traders and landlords who need to understand Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. It is run by Tony Mulligan.
We publish a free start-date checker, short guides, and optional paid spreadsheets for record-keeping and budgeting. The spreadsheets are our own products. They are not HMRC-recognised software and cannot file updates with HMRC.

We re-check figures after each April and each Budget, and we show a “checked on” date on pages that quote thresholds. Last full check: 5 November 2026.
